Had a great conversation with <a href="Pete Matthews tonight! It’s so exciting to hear about what God is doing in great homeland of Kentucky. It’s also affirming to see how we share a common vision of what the church could look like in the 21 century.

I need to finish a paper (so I’m kinda procrastinating), but one of the ideas we talked about was “third places”. The book Great Good Places is a cool concept of “third places”. The third place is an expression of community beyond the home and work – like a neighborhood cafe or local pub. We’ve lost a lot of these third places in the U.S.. I wish the church could be a third place – but I’m not sure it is. Maybe it could become that way again…
