Walking into the Kingdom

06May05

From Chris Erdman:

“We long for forms of living that honor the land, and by doing so make possible forms of human community that honor the spirit. Frankly, we wish we could walk to work, walk to the store, walk to friend’s homes, walk to a corner coffee house and pub. We can’t help thinking that that’s not mere idealism, it’s the way we’re meant to live and to live well. And we think such a way of life would more naturally support a better sprawl–that of the gospel of the Kingdom.”

I agree! There are certain things about our current living situation that I dislike and some that I love. Being able walk 1/2 mile to a coffee house (Pleasant Perk) and a Pub (Dubliner) which I have done multiple times this week is def. on the LOVE list. I’m excited (and anxious) to get to know my neighbors better and see what forms of Kingdom life God wants to grow up in this place.
